En unik upplevelse som verkligen fångar känslan av Sverige och skärgårdslivet.
Vi besökte Igloo Hut en solig fredag i maj och fick en fantastisk upplevelse från början till slut. Atmosfären var unik, lugn och otroligt mysig, verkligen något utöver det vanliga. Resan dit blev dessutom en del av upplevelsen. Vi tog båten från Strömkajen och fick njuta av en vacker tur genom Stockholms skärgård med magiska vyer längs vägen.

Oförglömlig
Älskade allt med boendet! Det var väl städat och så fint läge, de hade allt i omtanke det fanns allting man kan tänka sig behöva för att ha en underbar vistelse. De var dessutom så himla omhändertagande och så hjälpsamma, svarade på alla frågor fanns alltid där om man undrade något. Kommer hundra procent att boka igen inte bara för läget och priset utan framförallt för det underbara bemötandet!

Jag kan bara säga WOW, vilken upplevelse!
Att bo en natt i hutten var en fantastisk upplevelse. Allt var rent, snyggt och väldigt fint förberett när vi kom dit. Köket var välutrustat och oerhört uppskattat att det fanns kaffe och te i pentryt. Utsikten över Stockholmsskärgård var helt magisk och det var något speciellt med att vakna upp ute på vattnet i den lugna miljön.

Väldigt trevliga och tillmötesgående värdar som alltid var lätta att få kontakt med och svarade snabbt, oavsett tid på dygnet. Vi kände oss verkligen välkomna och omhändertagna. Rekommenderas varmt och vi kommer gärna tillbaka!

En magisk vistelse med fantastisk utsikt och värdar utöver det vanliga
Men det som verkligen gjorde vår vistelse oförglömlig var värdarna, Hernan och Azin. Jag har bokat en hel del hotell och boenden genom åren, men sällan mött värdar som varit så hjälpsamma, omtänksamma och genuint gulliga.

Luxury glamping on the water — what the hut actually is
It is an AuroraHut 395: a round, well-insulated cabin on pontoons, just under four metres across and twelve square metres inside. Half the outer wall is glass, from counter height to the ceiling.
Inside there is a double bed, a gas hob with a press and a kettle, a cool compartment, a dry toilet and wifi. An air-source heat pump and a diesel heater keep it comfortable in the middle of February.
Power comes from a fuel cell on board. No cable to shore, no generator cutting in at night.

Wood-fired sauna, outdoor shower and ice bath
From mid-November 2026 a wood-fired sauna stands on the deck beside the hut, together with an outdoor shower and an ice bath.
You light it yourself, step out into the cold, lower yourself into the water and come back to the heat. That order is the whole point — and the reason the sauna sits by the water rather than inside the hut.
Getting here from Stockholm
Tynningö is part of Vaxholm municipality. Vaxholm itself is five to thirteen minutes away by boat on Waxholmsbolaget's line 4B, and those departures are part of Stockholm's ordinary public transport ticketing — no separate ticket needed.
By car, the free Tynningöleden ferry runs from Norra Lagnö every twenty minutes, with on-demand crossings late into the evening. Parking at the boatyard is free.
Without a car, bus 689 also serves the island. The hut is within walking distance of the quay.
The archipelago in November is not the archipelago in July
Summer. Swimming from the jetty, kayaks to rent in Vaxholm, evenings that never quite end.
Autumn. Rain against the panoramic glass is a reason to come in its own right. The Bogesundslandet trails are a short boat ride away and empty this time of year.
Winter. When the ice settles around the pontoons it goes completely quiet. The hut is warm, and the sauna is ten metres away.
Spring. The archipelago opens before high season arrives, and the jetty is yours alone.

What does a night cost?

Can you stay in the hut in winter?
Yes. The hut is insulated and heated by both an air-source heat pump and a diesel heater, and it is let all year. Winter is also when the archipelago is at its quietest.
Is there a sauna?
From mid-November 2026 there is a wood-fired sauna, an outdoor shower and an ice bath on the deck beside the hut.
Is there a toilet and a shower?
The hut has a Separett dry toilet. The outdoor shower stands on the deck beside it, from mid-November 2026.
How do you get here without a car?
Waxholmsbolaget's line 4B runs from Vaxholm to Norra Tynningö in five to thirteen minutes and is part of Stockholm's ordinary public transport ticketing. Bus 689 also serves the island. The hut is within walking distance of the quay.
How many people does it sleep?
The hut is made up for two. It was built for couples, and couples are who stay here.
How do you book?
Through Booking.com, where you can see free dates, the rate, and get confirmation straight away.
The hut is run by the people who own it — Azin and Hernán. Booking, check-in and the jetty are handled by us, with no manager in between. Freddie, our white golden retriever, will happily meet you on the jetty but never stays inside the hut, out of consideration for guests with pet allergies.
